It is the inlets/jets in a pool that keep the water moving. Without that circulation, algae would grow, dirt would collect, and the water would not be enjoyable to swim in. In addition to that, pool jets also distribute chemicals through the water and maintain an adequate water level above the skimmer.

During filtering, dirty water from the pool enters through the filter's inlet pipe, which connects to the water distribution head inside the tank. Water is filtered at the bottom of the tank and discharged through the outlet pipe.

Pool inlets/jets are created with substantial hydraulic pressure to help the water flow though the pool. In this way, the water's chemical additives are circulated better.
