In order to stop microorganisms and potentially hazardous bacteria from growing in the pool, disinfection is crucial for both public and private swimming pools. It is vital that we keep the water we swim in free from pathogenic organisms and bacteria. Hence, germs and other organisms are killed using disinfectants like chlorine through chlorine dispenser or skimmer. Similarly, disinfection plays a role in controlling organic debris from products that are applied to the skin, like deodorant, creams and oils.

In the same way that a dosing pump is needed, as it draws measured amounts into a chamber and then injects it into the pipe or tank to be dosed. The purpose of a dosing pump is to pump a very precise amount of a chemical or substance into a water, steam or gas stream.

The microcontroller-based Astral Pool Exactus pH/Rx membrane dosing pumps is operated by a contemporary microprocessor, allowing for precise adjustment of the flow rate. When connected to a transceiver device or another gadget which delivers a modified signal ranging from 0 to 20 mA, the pump pulse frequency will be proportionate to the mA signal received: pump flow increases with signal strength. The dosing pump's intervention mode can be programmed by the user to suit the needs of the plant.
